Website - Slow, laggy, mandatory Javascript?

It seems like your updated website spends an entire second on the splash screen to load. Turning off Javascript causes it to stay on the splash screen forever!

You appear to be using Joomla. Disabling JS and CSS causes page content to be visible, but download links to be unclickable.

Can you use a less laggy web framework that doesn't require JS?

    Hello Jimmy,

    Welcome to this forum!

I'm indeed using Joomla with a template that was not optimized. I'm currently trying to improve this website and I already reduced the size of the home page and cleaned some unused selectors in the .css.

I fear disabling js will not be an option for correctly displaying the whole website but I will try at least to prevent the splash screen to block the user and keep the download buttons usable.

Also some minor curiosities: Although I registered in English, I got a French email and was redirected to the French site. It seems like language is determined by URL, and I was unable to find a preferred language selector in profile -> hard-to-see edit button.

I have some experience in web development, though none in Joomla. Is this a Joomla forum plugin?

The forum is provided by an extension called Kunena .

The language of the notification email is linked to the website language when someone write a answer. I don't know if this is a bug or a feature of Kunena but I will force the notification language to be in English (as soon as I find a solution).

The loading page is removed and I tested without javascript: download buttons are working and everything appears almost fine.
I changed some configurations and the speed of this website is now linked mainly to the web hosting service which may not be optimized for Joomla. It seems to be ok now.
