Tuned the percussions correctly as possible, so we may use them as melodious instruments.
Some one may want to listen the sound which is close to original sound of four voice internal sound source of old Macintosh computer (SE/30, PowerBook 1*0 or PowerBook Duo 2*0 etc), in this case i recommend set the MIDI player with no delay, nor chorus, nor reverb.
eg
in case of command line interface MIDI player “timidity”:
$ timidity -c (suitably for your environment) --delay=d,0 --chorus=d,0 --reverb=d,0

vieuxmac.early.musical.instrument.v2.3.3.sf2
Hello again
Removed noises from sound of "lute".
Trimmed to end of loop of every instrument (except percussion and keyboard instruments)
The sound of this sound font became more comfortable to listen. Thanks.
------------------------------
vieuxmac.early.musical.instrument.v2.3.1.sf2 (A = circa 432Hz Classical pitch)
Any trouble was resolved. I confirmed with the application "Sweet MIDI Player" on iPhone. They speak nicely (But at the same environment with the application "MIDITrail" --------- also on the Apple Air laptop computer --------- and "MIDI file player", the bagpipe and bagpipe drone speak with out of tune at each sustain. I can not find the reason)
Sample of baroque oboe and traverso piccolo became to speak well.
Envelopes of bagpipe and bagpipe drone became relative close to original’s one (ConcertWare+MIDI on old Macintosh computer SE/30)
By the way presets mappings are :
Bagpipe drone —> 000:109 bag pipe
Bagpipe —> 000:088 Synth.pad.1.new.age.

vieuxmac.early.musical.instrument.v2.3.sf2
Bagpipe, bagpipe.drone and traversopiccolo can not speak well. They are out of tune.
So, I don't use them, but any presets are mapped with certain instrument. eg renaissancepiccolo --> 000:072 piccolo and crumhorn --> 000:109 bag.pipe etc
I am now studying about the matter.
But other instrument were almost completely tuned since i became familiar with “Polyphone”
I am very satisfied with this sound font.
Enjoy lo-fi emulated sounds of ancient musical instrument.

The baroque oboe speaks with a strange sound on certain midi players. (But Sweet MIDI on iPhone has no problem) Then I divert it from the sampling of the oboe da caccia.
The bagpipe speaks with off-key sound on certain midi players. (But Sweet MIDI on iPhone has no problem) But I leave it as is.
I am privately satisfied with the sound font.

Hello again!
I have done out the samples by doing sample one cycle of each sound wave of each instrument, further adjusted the intervals.
The sound font became shaped up. The sound became comfortable to listen.
Additionally gave a little variety to the envelope.

Hello again,
I have upgraded this sound font.
As below:
1) I made it possible to play percussion instruments such as. Nakers, Tabor and Tambourine
2) Normalized dynamics between instruments.
I did them while confirming the sound on my iPhone with very cheap speakers, so I'm not sure you're happy with the results.

Hi,
More than 20 years ago I had made a sound font on an old macintosh computer SE/30 with a tool “Instrument maker” which is one of components of an application “ConcertWare+MIDI”.
Of course it speaks with Lo-Fi sound.
I had done it from the sounds of imitation early musical instruments played by the internal sound source of the old macintosh computer.
I recently remade it to correspond each the 32 sounds of the instruments mentioned above to any of existing 128 instruments.
id est we can now listen any voice of a MIDI file with a sound of certain early musical instrument.
The early musical instruments which are here wrapped up as the sound font:
Bagpipe
Bagpipedrone
Bonbarde
Chalumeau
Cornetto
Crumhorn
Dulcian
Rackett
Rauschpfeife
Rebec
Recorder
Regal
Renaissance faluto
Sackbut
Schalmei
Shawm
Sordun
Nakers
Tabor
Tambourine
Traverso
Baroque oboe
Oboe da caccia
Classical clarinet
Baroque basson
Baroque violin
Gamba
Lute
Clavichord
Harpsichord
Renaissance piccolo
Traverso piccolo

MA Where Is the link for download?thanks
-
Sc I'm confused by the license, could I use these to make a creative commons song and then use the song in a podcast as background music that I would be making money off of?

Jo I am very happy to find this gem. Early music soundfonts are not common. Thank you!

MF The names displayed don't correspond to the sound... Can you give us a list of what baroque instrument name equals the displayed midi name? It would really help a lot.

ST Hello
Please download total.2.3.4.png then refer to it, thanks. -
JR Hello! Just downloaded this and the baroque instruments don't all show in MuseScore. Lute, shawm, etc... Is there any specific way it must be loaded into MS for it to show properly?

ST Hello
I'm sorry to be late.
