How do I combine soundfonts? How do I do things?

Supposedly this is an incredibly easy thing to do in this software. I'm supposed to be able to drag and drop presets? But I don't know where to drag them. They don't get dropped. All the tutorials revolve around a "tree". There is no tree. I cannot figure out how to turn on the tree. Why is this software so clunky and unintuitive?

    Hello Jacob,

Welcome to Polyphone and the world of Soundfont Making!

I am assuming that you are using Polyphone 2.0.1. If you are, than you are right; there is no tree in Polyphone 2.0.1. You use ctrl-c and ctrl-v to copy and paste things around different soundfonts (in different tabs) in Polyphone 2.x.

The tutorials concern Polyphone 1.9, and not the vastly different 2.x as of now. So if you want to drag and drop presets to combine Soundfonts, I recommend that you try Polyphone 1.9.

    Thanks,

    Strix.

I plan to release the next version of Polyphone around September and I promise, my next step will be to update the documentation!

in Polyphone 1.9 open the soundfont you want to copy Presets from.(source)
then create a New soundfont (destination)
now drag Presets from the Presets of the source to the Presets of the destination.
    regards bottrop

Don't advise version 1.9. Version 2.1 is in beta, and soon the real release 2.1 that will work great (I recognize that version 2.0 was buggy).

For merging soundfonts copy paste is nice. There is also the tool "export" of the main menu, in which you select the presets among ALL soundfonts open. A merge is also done here.

    See these pages:
    https://www.polyphone.io/o/documentation…r/tree#doc_copypaste
    https://www.polyphone.io/o/documentation…manual/menu#doc_save (export)

If you still prefer version 1.9 over version 2.1, please open a thread to discuss about this
