Bad latency

    Hi,

When I use Szforzando to live play on my Windows 11 computer (midi controller connected with USB to the computer without external audio interface) it all works great. However when I use Polyphone there is a lot of lag (at least 80ms). I am using exactly the same soundfont. I tried changing the audio driver in the settings MENU of Polyphone and I can never get a good latency like Szforzando.

I tried downloading ASIO4ALL and didnt help. The current fastest configuration with Polyphone is using REALTEK ASIO but I still get lots of lag.

It's worth mentioning that using VSTs works fine on my computer (NanoHost64bit with many guitar and piano VSTs work great). It's just Polyphone that has this terrible lag which sometimes even freezes.

I already tried messing with buffer size but nothing helps. I am using the lasted 2.4 version. Cant Polyphone use the same audio engine as Szforzando which works amazingly well?

Polyphone is meant for CREATING soundfonds.
you dont use a plummers toolkit to run a tap.

@bottrop I dont expect Polyphone to work as a VST Host, but I do expect it to be able to play my MIDI notes in such a way I can succesfully test the soundfonts I use. It's impossible to test a soundfont with lags of almost 100ms, I cannot even make complex arpeggios to test the modulators I created in polyphone because the lag makes it too hard to play and test.

i think the best place to test your soundfonts is in the environment you plan to use it.
