Not hearing any soound

  I have started to create a SF. The trouble is I can't hear anything, either by the keyboard after I have attached a sample to a key, or when I select a sample and ask to play.
  
  I have tried to get sound through both my M-Audio card and the onboard sound in my PC, but no luck.
  
  Is there some setting or routing I can do to fix this?
