Not sure if this is attainable, but I am currently playing with a pre-made soundfont, and I'm trying to see if it is attainable to make it so that the percussion soundfonts choke, or at least, if I play a cymbal for example and set the note duration to an eighth note, I want it to only last for an eighth note long, and to not have it vibrate until the sound dissapates. If this is doable, anyone know how or if it can be done?
i dont think this is possible for all note lenghts(at all tempi !) within the soundfont protocol.
choking is not a property of an instrument, but the musician's work.
you could experiment with two samples at one key
1 a choked cymbal
2 a cymbal release starting to play when sample one stops
and adress the combinations by Velocity
but i dont think it will sound nice
