0xc00007b error

  • BG 2 0
    Hello everybody,
I downloaded version 2.2 of Polyphone for Win64
Upon starting, it says it's impossible to run the program, and outputs the error code in the Subject.

My OS is Windows 10 Home, version 2004.
Latest .NET Framework installed is 4.8

Any idea on how to fix this issue?

    Thank you very much
    Best regards
    Bruno

II have a similar problem. I have installed both 32 and 64 bit Polyphone on to a new Windows 10 professional system and neither will run. Part of the problem appears to be lack of MSVCR120.dll but copying this file from another Windows 10 computer on which both versions of polyphone DO run does not cure the problem.

When msvcr120.dll is available there is another non specific error which says that Polyphone cannot run. Installing the MS Visual C++ runtime package did not help.

I am a software producer myself and know that new software must be run on a completely "clean" computer in order to discover ALL of the dll's it needs. Clearly this has not been done for Polyphone. Please provide a list of ALL the dependencies which polyphone has so that it can be reliably installed on Windows systems.

Just for the record, I installed the same 64-bit version on a Windows7 computer and it works like a charm (sort of, honestly: the onscreen keyboard often doesn't show up).

I have now discovered that the errors ARE caused by lack of an installed Visual C++ runtime package. However there is a problem in knowing which one to install as Microsoft (in their wisdom) have produced a new Visual C++ runtime package every few years and you have to install the correct one.

I solved this problem by installing them all. (There is a combined package available which installs around 12 separate packages from around 2005 to date).

Polyphone now runs OK on my Windows 10 professional computer. But I still do not know which is the correct runtime package to install.

    Hi,
could you please provide me with the link to the combined package?
I'd like to give it a try

    Thanks

I suggest you Google "visual c++ runtime multiple".

This will bring up a lot of information about visual c++ runtimes including links to some multiple packages. I think the one I used was from techpowerup.com but this is not a recommendation.

Microsoft have got themselves into a real mess with these packages and as far as I can tell they do not support multiple packages. It would be much more sensible if the Polyphone people told us which package was needed. But they probably do not know themselves.

The Community Edition of Visual C++  is obtainable for free.

Does installing this helps to make Polyphone work properly? And if so, which parts should I install (by selecting all of it the download becomes more than 30 GB).

Michael, you need none of it - you need to install the runtime packages only. These are completely separate from the compiler itself, which is what you are looking at.

    It's C++ 2013 x64. vcredits2013_x64.exe Version 12.0.40.664.

After installing that, Polyphone worked on W10 x64 without errors.

Maybe it should be linked at the download page?
