    Whole newbie here...
i have a samples collection to bind to a percussion family (or bank, as you want)...
In fact, i don't know some concepts for researching on handbook, that's why i would like to ask wether anyone can give any insights.
the colletion has a couple of dozens of sounds.
intend to bind each one to a key (on range of C to B), but only one of them is working, with frequency changes (or pitch). Recalling it must be percussion family.
looking for the basics at first, just to handle it.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions
    thanks.

You will learn by making and correcting your own mistakes. You need to bind each percussion sound to ONE midi key.

I suggest you look at, and experiment with, some other sound fonts and find out how they have been made.

    Yes @csw900, thanks for reply.
Actually, I taken a look on other soundfonts, but without discover or twig out the singular features that made them special. For me all seems very similar. A drum seems have the same features than a choir in terms of data and so on. That's why i created this post xD
Well, i will keep on the go anyway.
    I aprecciate your response.
    Thank you again.

for a percussion soundfont you go this way'
    New
create Instrument("drumkit") in the Instrument folder
import your samples into the Samples folder, select all and Bind To your Instrument
    select your Instrument
in the Global column set Tuning (scale) to zero (this will make your samples sound the same pitch over the whole keyboard range)
assign each(!) sample to the 1 key of your choice (say; triangle to 60, bassdrum to 75)
    regards bottrop
