How do I get 4 samples to cover 88 keys?

I'm very new to polyphone, and I'm trying to create a soundfont for use in LMMS, specifically using vocal samples for a project I'm working on. The problem is I only have 4 samples, and would really rather prefer working with as few as possible, which means by default, that would only cover 4 keys which isn't ideal. Is there any way to get Polyphone to cover all 88 keys, pitching the samples up by 1 and cycling through them in order for each note that goes up automatically? I tried... something but it didn't seem to do anything.

"...ld really rather prefer working with as few as possible". i guess you mean as many as possible..

in a wave editor you can transpose samples, sometimes as far as one octave up and down, its very unpredictable what is left of the sound.
you could download some vocal SF2's from the Soundfonts tab here and rob some samples that sound good for you. there is a nice soundfont with sung vowels.
    good luck, bottrop
