Can I specify a non-zero sample start?

Is it possible to specify a non-zero wave sample start using only Polyphone?

I have a sampled vocal sentence of four words with which I will assign to five different notes (C=the entire four words, D=first word, E=second word, etc). Using any wave file editor (like Audacity), I can isolate each word into its own sample file. It dawned on me that if I was able to specify start and end points and apply these points to the sample file in four unique ways (one for each word), I could achieve my goal without having to create four additional sample files. Is that possible with Polyphone? If so, how would I do that?

I've experimented with the loop indices and hit a dead end there. The loop indices only control the loop repeat after the sample is played from position 0.

    Thanks, John

At the instrument level you can specify an offset for the sample start, same for sample end.
